Cricket Gloves

The cricket glove, like its namesake in other sports, is a garment that covers the hand. It is mostly used for protective purposes. The cricket ball is made of cork and leather and can hurt quite a bit if it impacts the human hand at speeds of 140km/h and above. In the sport of cricket, the wicket keeper and the batsmen both wear gloves. The keeper wears webbed gloves ( between the thumb and the index finger) while standing behind the wicket. Keeping gloves are usually coloured, even in test cricket. Batsmen primarily wear gloves to protect their fingers. In test cricket, the gloves worn by batsmen are usually white in colour.
